Canadian fine artist, Curtis Cutshaw is represented by TEW Galleries in Atlanta, Georgia. His abstract painted wood constructions boldly display allow the viewer to explore the process. Scratched, rubbed, marked and distressed pieces of wood hint at repurposing and appear to be old, though in fact every aspect of the work, down to the smallest detail, is intentional. Cutshaw has recently moved away from primarily creating black and white, or red and white pieces, to also embrace bold color and some shiny metallic surfaces. Curtis Cutshaw has been showing with TEW Galleries since 2019.
In this magnificent painting with its graceful arched composition, Charles reflects the sky in the water and he gives us great feeling for animals and nature. By making the whale iconic but equally as a holder for an idyllic sea scene, we are inspired to think about what we are doing to the planet.
