Jeanette Henriksen Born in Copenhagen, Denmark; Lives in Atlanta, GA Education: University of Georgia and the Atlanta College of Art Jeanette Henriksen’s style of expressionistic realism is achieved intuitively through an abstract vision brought to fruition using traditional oil pigments, limewashes and glazes. Utilizing her skills acquired as a decorative painter, she slowly builds up layers to achieve depth and complexity. Each painting often takes months to achieve completion. The artist credits her pictorial outlook and stylistic view to her Danish heritage and years living in Europe. After studies at Atlanta College of Art and the University of Georgia, she settled in Atlanta, Georgia. Apart from her ongoing career as a fine artist, Jeanette has consistently been in demand as a decorative painter and utilized her knowledge of traditional decorative techniques for commissioned designer projects. Marketing her art through several galleries and showrooms; in 2016, she transitioned to working exclusively on her fine art career and relocated to Hilton Head SC. There she exhibited at Four Corners Gallery and Roost in Bluffton S.C.; while still maintaining ties with Atlanta showrooms. Now, once again residing in Atlanta, she paints in a serene and inspiring lakeside community and is currently represented by Tew Galleries
